Connect the Coast is a project initiated by TraC (Transportation Choices Sunshine Coast) and Sunshine Coast Tourism to encourage the creation of All Ages and Abilities cycling and pedestrian infrastructure to connect Sunshine Coast communities.
The phase 1 report breaks the corridor from Langdale to Sechelt into 25 segments and presents recommendations for active transportation infrastructure to serve people of All Ages and Abilities, as well as high-level cost estimates for construction of the recommended infrastructure, and assigns a priority for implementation to each segment based on a multiple accounts evaluation.
A second phase of the study, funded through a Federal Active Transportation grant to Sunshine Coast Tourism, will develop a preliminary plan for construction of an All Ages and Abilities active transportation route from Sechelt to Lund.
